Removing the second front end and staring fabrication
In this episode you will see the Jeep at its starting point of being a double ended JK. We learn what it was made and how it was received. We see its progression on how it ended up in the condition that is in and were its hopping to end up. We’ll see how the second front end is removed and the frame trimmed to make the truck bed fit and still be large enough for extra storage.
Removing the second front end
Starting by getting rid of everything that’s not needed for the new look. Cutting off the second front end behind the seats. Removing the current soft top and cutting the frame behind the front seats to make a clean surface to start working off of as the new look is built out.
Fixing the Brakes
There is also a surprise in the front end. Looks like the brakes and front axle need attention. From all the water the brakes need to be taken apart and cleaned before getting put back together. The front axles works now but will need to be replaces because it could brake at the next turn.
Fabricating
Once everything was removed, the fabrication could start. They wanted the front end to be separate from the new truck bed, so it didn’t look like one continuous frame. A rear panel and window will be added behind the front seats to make everything look finished. The new look should be a Jeep with a separate truck bed.
What’s next
Building the new truck bed. It will be a tube frame bed that can be customized to make sure its not to long but still has room for storage for the trip they are taking it on.
